Easter 2008

Jack wanted to celebrate Easter this morning with the women that went to the tomb before it was light. He woke up around 5:30. He did go back to sleep until 6:30 and then Clayton got up shortly after. We all sat down for breakfast and Fred read the Easter story. After church Melody and her family, including Aunt Michelle, came over for Easter lunch. What a day! How blessed we are to know we serve a risen Savior! (And how blessed we are to have the freedom to celebrate!)

Springhill Easter Egg Pick Up-2008!

So, we have an Easter Egg "hunt" at church each year after Easter. I will use the word "hunt" loosely since we just have candy in the gym floor. They do section off the gym so that it is fair for all the children. When we entered the gym Clayton was ready. He immediately went to his spot and waited for the go. Jack however, does not remember last year. When he entered the gym he thought he had hit the mother-load! Clayton racked up some eggs. Jack got candy before the thing started as you will see in the video. Hope you enjoy!

Mowing with daddy

Fred had to mow the yard today and Jack went into the backyard to get his mower to help. He did everything Fred did. It was priceless. Maybe by next summer he can start mowing the yard so I won't have to do it again! I'll just have to buy him the right clothes...right dad!?! FYI-The bag was on the mower so Jack was not in danger of flying debris.

Sweet Boys!

I came in from the grocery today and found my little boys sitting in the living room together. It was too sweet. Sorry about Clayton's comment toward the end...boys!!

Beautiful Spring Day!

It started off a little chilly in Paris today, but by 10:00 a.m. it was beautiful!! Clayton and Jack really enjoyed playing outside. I snapped a couple of cute pictures of Jack. Sorry I don't have any of Clayton. He was in the back yard when I was taking these.

Easter Egg Hunt

Clayton had an egg hunt today, but unfortunately the weather changed his outdoor hunt to an indoor "pick up" as they called it. It was still sweet though.

Our Trip to Louisville

Fred had to make a trip to Louisville so we all decided to go with him. In the beginning the trip was about Fred defending his doctorate, but once we started planning this became an afterthought!! We had the best time! As you can see below Jack really enjoyed his ice cream. We ate at several good restaurants, at the advice of my friend Carrie. Our first stop was at a hamburger place called W.W. Cousins. We all enjoyed homemade buns with our hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and onion rings. Yummie! After that we went for some ice cream at Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen. The boys and I had ice cream and Fred had an upside down caramel cupcake. Then we all rolled back to our hotel room for bedtime and a few games of CandyLand. The next morning we ate breakfast at Lynn's Paradise Cafe. Yummie again!! We all shared homemade granola, huge pancakes, and scrambled eggs. Delicious! While Fred was completing his defense the boys and I went to a local mall and they got to play on an indoor play area. Fred called around 4 and we went to get him at the seminary. He completed his doctorate with flying colors. Now with only a few minor style corrections and graduation he will be Dr. Fred!! Sounds funny, doesn't it!?!

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

It snowed this weekend while we were at my grandmother's house. We had the best time playing in the snow! Since we were away from home we did not have all of our "snow gear". Fred left that morning and bought gloves and a hat for the boys. Getting ready is always exciting!

Clayton's pretend birthday at Joyland

Today at Clayton's preschool he celebrated his birthday. I know it's not his birthday, but he got to celebrate his "pretend" birthday. They are so thoughtful at Joyland. Since his birthday comes in the summer they picked a day during the school year for him to celebrate. He got the special hat and sticker and got to sit in a special chair. He was trying so hard not to smile. Then his teachers gave him three wrapped gifts: a green bear, a book and a tooth pillow. While he was opening the gifts he turned to his teacher and very quietly said, "Mrs. Jan, I really like this wrapping paper." It was so sweet. After he finished unwrapping his gifts he got a balloon and a smiley face ring. I wish I could remember the song they sang when they put the ring on his finger...it was so precious. Once all the gifts had been presented all of his friends sat down to Oreos and milk--his choice!

A BIG week for Kaiyah

My friend Lauren brought over the letters for Kaiyah's room. Aren't they cute! I just thought I'd post them for everyone to see instead of sending them out on an email. Lauren did a great job! Tami I hope this is what you had in mind!?! I will send some pink gingham ribbon and you should be set! She will have the cutest room! I can't wait to see it!

Jack the Giant

Okay, so Jack has always been big, but today when our friends Janna and Jessie came over to play I realized that he is a giant! Jack is only six weeks older than these two! (Sorry for the poor quality picture. Do you know how hard it is to photograph three children?)

Humor Me!!

So you all know by now that I have two boys. They are precious, but shopping for them is not much of a challenge...shorts, pants, t-shirts, polos, etc. Look at the children's section next time you are in a store. The girls side has two to three times as many clothes. Well, this week in Paris we are having a consignment sale. Renee was here Sunday and helped me put up all my things in the sale. Since we are having a precious girl born into our family she asked me to pick out some clothes for her to take to Kaiyah. How exciting...shopping for a girl!!! I enlisted the help of my friend Melody, who also has two boys, and we had the best time. We went through every rack just ooohing and ahhhing over all the precious clothes. At 10:00 last night our final selections were made and with smiles on our faces we bought little girl clothes for the first time! Tami and Dan I hope you like them! What fun!
