The wedding ceremony of Q and U

We have been so blessed this year with Clayton starting school at Rhea Elementary. One of those blessings has been his teacher this year. She is so creative, clever, artsy and crafty...everything I am not!! I love her for this reason. Today I was subbing in another kindergarten classroom and the assistant told me I had to go to Clayton's room for the wedding of Q and U. Clayton had been telling me about this all week. They had a wedding ceremony with cake, punch, bride and groom, the wedding march and a minister. The girls were dressed as queens and the boys were dressed as quarterbacks. Clayton was the groom and quarterback Q. He got to walk down the aisle with Queen U and they became one. They even had to shake hands and promise never to part...how sweet!! Even sweeter though is that I was just down the hall and got to witness it all!!

Hymnal Dedication Service

We got new hymnals at our church through an anonymous donation...of course we had to celebrate! Our minister of music put together the most beautiful service. One aspect of the service was the children playing bells along with Amazing Grace. They were precious! Clayton did a great job! How grateful I am that both of my boys are lare being taught how to praise our Lord and Redeemer at such an early age!

A trip to Memphis

On Valentine's Day we headed to Memphis. For a special treat we told Clayton we would pick up McDonald's for the road. Both of the boys were really excited, but Jack was just tuckered out. He fell asleep after eating about half of his cheeseburger. I thought this picture was too cute to resist! Hope you enjoy!

The Lord's Prayer

When I was in the fifth grade my dad took me to school. Fifth grade was one of the hardest school years for me. I didn't know anyone in my class and it was a new school. My dad and I started reading a Bible devotion together and quoting the Lord's prayer every morning in the car before school. I vividly remember talking with my dad about the meaning of some of those "big" words. He taught me what they meant by the things he said and the way he lived his life. Riding with my dad to school those years are some of my fondest memories from my childhood. I thought it would be a good idea for Clayton to learn it as well. He memorizes so quickly and easily. As he hides God's word in his heart I hope and pray that it will be a firm foundation for his life.

Super Bowl Party

We are headed to a Super Bowl party tonight after church. I told my friend I would bring dessert. This is what I came up with... It is made with cocoa krispies, white icing for the laces and tinted green coconut for the grass.
