Our fun day in Clarksville

Our day started with a bit of confusion this morning, but by 8 a.m. we had a plan! Originally we had planned to go to Beech Bend Water and Amusement Park, but the chance of rain was 100%. We decided not to make that trip. Our good friend, Katie, came up with an alternate plan. We headed to Clarksville for a fun day at a new place called The Jump Zone and then we headed to an old (but equally good) destination called Chuck E. Cheese. We loaded vans and cars and headed out of Paris around 10:00 a.m. Melody, her boys and our friend Aiden were in our van. Katie had Caroline and Callie in her car. What a day! Below are some pictures of The Jump Zone:
This is our picture before we headed down the biggest slide I've ever been down...
This is after...
This is the in between...

Liz is coming to Paris

My sister in law, Elizabeth, has set a date to come to Paris. She is a very talented and passionate photographer! She is launching her photography business and is trying to build her portfolio. Her prices are very reasonable. If you are interested in her taking pictures for you please let me know ASAP. I already have several people interested and her calendar is filling up quickly!!

She will be in Paris the weekend of September 13th. Email me @ jdshackelford@hotmail.com with any questions or to take a look at her price sheet .

Most of you have seen her work, but just in case you haven't...here are a few of my favorites from her most recent photo shoot with the boys!!

You can also check out her website by clicking here.

(Can you tell we are a little partial, biased and maybe even a little proud of her and her work?!?! Rightfully so, I think!)

Fred's Mighty Mite Experience

Fred and our brother in law, Lee, competed in a triathalon this weekend in Forrest City, Arkansas. They did a great job! He did a 500 meter open water swim, a 13 mile bike ride and a three mile race. His goal was to finish in an hour and a half. He finished in one hour, twenty nine minutes and twenty five seconds!! Way to go Fred!! Here are a few pictures from the day...Mile Three and still smiling!!!
Fred is crossing the finish line here. (The time shown is not the correct time for his race.)

Zach's Blog

Seeing as how we have every other blog on blogspot listed under "Other Blogs We Like to Read," I don't know how we overlooked one of my favorite guys on the planet. If you haven't already, check out my brother-in-law, Zach's, blog on the right. He's a solid man who loves God with all his heart, and treats my sister with the respect and love she deserves (actually with more than she deserves--thank goodness :)). Thanks Zach. Happy blogging.

What do you mean I'm not mother of the year?!?

Apparently I am in a constant quest of the Mother of the Year award. I got out of the shower and did not hear Jack in the house (Clayton was asleep). I called his name and he was in the living room. This is what I found... You can't see this one well, but he has three cookies stacked in his hand about to take a bite.
I don't know how many cookies he ate before I got to him, but it was quite a few. Oh well...at least I didn't have to go in our front yard while in a towel and bring him inside!! Who knew Jack could open a door!?! I guess I'll strive for Mother of the Year another day!!
